Confessions (2010)

Yuuko Moriguchi leads a normal and orderly life as a teacher at a middle school. However, this changes abruptly when her five-year-old daughter is found dead on the school grounds. A world comes crashing down for the single mother. In the midst of her grief, however, doubts about her daughter’s death arise in her mind and she finally finds out that two pupils from her own class are responsible for her daughter’s death. Since the two are not yet 14 years old and therefore not of legal age under Japanese law, legal prosecution is futile. In order to give the two students a taste of the suffering she had to endure, she decides to resort to other means and turns the lives of her entire class upside down with her perfidious act of revenge …

Yuuko Moriguchi führt als Lehrerin an einer Mittelschule ein normales und geregeltes Leben. Dies ändert sich jedoch abrupt, als ihre fünfjährige Tochter tot auf dem Schulgelände aufgefunden wird. Für die alleinerziehende Mutter bricht damit eine Welt zusammen. Inmitten der Trauer keimen jedoch Zweifel am Tod ihrer Tochter in ihr auf und schließlich findet sie heraus, dass zwei Schüler ihrer eigenen Klasse für den Tod ihrer Tochter verantwortlich sind. Da die beiden noch keine 14 Jahre alt und damit nach japanischem Recht nicht strafmündig sind, ist eine juristische Strafverfolgung aussichtslos. Um den beiden Schülern dennoch einen Geschmack des Leides vermitteln zu können, das sie ertragen musste, entschließt sie sich, zu anderen Mitteln zu greifen und stellt mit ihrem perfiden Racheakt das Leben ihrer gesamten Klasse auf den Kopf …
