So kommt es auch, dass der Kaiser sie für sich beansprucht, ihr die Beine bricht und in einen kleinen Käfig einsperrt … bis sie eines Tages von Erzherzog Lloyd Cardenis Valentine gerettet wird. Ihr gemeinsamer Tod ist dennoch unaufhaltbar, doch ist das nicht Arias Ende, denn sie findet sich plötzlich in ihrem zehnjährigen Ich wieder. Das ist ihre Chance, sowohl sich selbst als auch Erzherzog Valentine zu retten. Wird Aria es schaffen und dem Schicksal entrinnen können?
