Hidamari no Orange (2019)

As his grades continue to drop, Nanami Takatoki is threatened with being left behind in his first year of high school. To avert this terrible fate, he asks Kei Takanashi, two years his senior and one of the best in his year, who is known for his dismissive manner, to help him study.

Only reluctantly and under pressure does the other student finally agree. During their time together, Nanami manages to see behind the model student’s icy façade, and Kei discovers that Nanami’s pushy nature doesn’t annoy him as much as he first feared. Soon Nanami passes his exams, and although Kei has fulfilled his duty, this is not the end of their acquaintance!

Da seine Noten immer weiter abfallen, droht Nanami Takatoki bereits, in seinem ersten Schuljahr in der Oberstufe sitzen zu bleiben. Um dieses schreckliche Schicksal abzuwenden, bittet er den zwei Jahre älteren Kei Takanashi, einen der Besten seines Jahrgangs, der für seine abweisende Art bekannt ist, ihm beim Lernen zu helfen.

Nur widerwillig und unter Druck stimmt der andere Schüler schließlich zu. Während ihrer gemeinsamen Zeit gelingt es Nanami, hinter die eisige Fassade des Musterschülers zu blicken und Kei stellt fest, dass ihm Nanamis aufdringliche Art nicht so sehr nervt, wie er es zunächst befürchtet hat. Bald schon besteht Nanami seine Prüfungen, doch obwohl Kei damit seine Pflicht erfüllt hat, ist das noch nicht das Ende ihrer Bekanntschaft …
