In Sandland dreht sich alles um Wasser. Ohne das lebenswichtige Nass läuft nichts. Das weiß auch Belzebub. Als Sohn des Teufels muss er ordentlich trainieren, um später selbst einmal ein »guter« Dämon zu werden. Doch kurzerhand bricht er sein Training ab, als ein Fremder ihn um Hilfe bittet. Von nun an ist sein einziges Ziel, die Suche nach der geheimnisvollen Wasserquelle, die irgendwo im Süden Sandlands liegen muss und vom skrupellosen König schwer bewacht wird. Für einen Teufel stehen Spaß und Action ganz oben auf der Wunschliste, und so stolpern Belzebub und seine Begleiter von einem Abenteuer ins Nächste. Auf seiner Reise begleiten ihn ganz schön schräge Typen: ein Sheriff mit zwielichtiger Vergangenheit und Sheef, ein Dämon, der sich auf Diebstahl spezialisiert hat.

En un mundo devastado por la sequía, el rey cobra exorbitantes cantidades por el agua embotellada. Rao, un alguacil, decide viajar al Sur en busca del «Lago fantasma» luego de ver a un Ave conocida por alimentarse de peces pequeños, para ayudarse contra los peligros de este viaje, Rao se arma de valor y decide pedir ayuda a los monstruos que habitan esa región, a él se unen en este viaje Beelzebub y Thief. Durante el viaje se enfrentan contra el Ejército del Rey y otros enemigos mientras descubren la verdad sobre el pasado de Rao y la sequía.

Il manga segue le avventure di Belzebubù, principe dei demoni, del ladro che lo accompagna e l’anziano sceriffo Rao. In un mondo futuro conosciuto come Sand Land, l’unico fiume che fornisce a tutto il mondo l’acqua si è improvvisamente arrestato e l’unica fonte d’acqua sono le costose bottiglie d’acqua del Re. I demoni e gli umani vivono insieme in un mondo arido, fino a che lo sceriffo Rao non convince Belzebubù per spingerlo a cercare il Phantom Lake, un fiume presso cui gli uccelli si riforniscono di pesci. Belzebubù parte insieme al suo amico ladro e l’avventura inizia.
